Shorter and longer versions of Flickit Cricket
If you have less than an hour and want to play a shorter version of Flickit Cricket, you could try:
A Six v Six or a Seven v Seven match.
You could play the game with all 11 fielders but only six or seven of them bat.
If you are having trouble hitting the target when flicking, why not put both the stumps and catching hands targets together. That way you double the width of the target and increase your success rate. The batters will be OUT more quickly and score fewer runs.
You could introduce a rule that once a batsman scores 50 runs they need to retire.
You could limit the game to 20 rolls of the dice per team. You will have to keep a careful tally of the rolls so that it is fair for both teams. Free Hits can be considered bonus rolls!
Play a Two v Two game. It may sound silly but it is actually a lot of fun. The fielding captain can move both fielders before every roll of the dice. All other rules apply except for the Power Plays.
To make the game last longer, you could try:
All catching chances are from the catching hands circle to catching hands circle.
Each team can have three reviews per team. If the batsman is OUT then the batting captain can review the decision by rolling one dice. If they roll a 4, 5 or 6 the batter is NOT OUT and continues batting. They can use the review system 3 times per innings.
Continuing with the review theme, you could make it a rule that if the batting captain was successful with their review then the team keeps the review.
You could play a test match. Two innings per team.
The number 11 batsman can bat normally and not be limited to the batsman’s Flick Scenario.
