Flickit Cricket was created by Scott Moody. Scott is originally from Australia, but now lives in the UK. He attended the Australian Institute of Sport Cricket Academy in the early 1990s, alongside some of the greatest players in recent history – including Shane Warne, Justin Langer and Damien Martyn. He represented the Australian Cricket Academy on tour in Sri Lanka, and went on to have a successful cricketing career, playing in Queensland, South Australia, Northern Territory and Western Australia.
To Coach
Scott arrived in the UK in 2002, having been selected as the overseas player for Wimbledon Cricket Club in Surrey. He played at the club for 5 years, until retiring from playing in order to concentrate on coaching. He now runs a successful business, Better Bowling, coaching children and adults the art of bowling, specialising in leg-spin.
In March 2020, the UK went into lockdown and Scott was unable to work. He turned his attention to developing a cricket-themed game for his young coaching students, and Flickit Cricket was born. You can read more about the Flickit Cricket story here.
Acknowledgements
The game has been through many versions and iterations. The version available today was developed with a huge amount of support. Scott would like to thank all those who have contributed to the process, especially his wife and daughter for bearing with him throughout.
In particular, the game would never have reached this stage without the work and support of two people: Sandra Moyes who designed all graphics for the game; Stephen Kennedy who developed this website, including shooting the photos and videos.
